In the beginning, it was a dream for Vikaas to start the flower business. He crossed a number of hurdles in order to gain the place he acquired today. Vikaas was from a small village of Bihar and for his higher studies, he shifted to Kolkata soon after his Class 10th got completed. His uncle had a flower business at Kolkata so after his college hours, he used to work every day with his uncle. Vikaas never dreamt of becoming an entrepreneur. But it was all about life and destiny.
The first Ferns N Petals shop came into existence when he borrowed an amount of 2.5 lakhs from his friend. During that time, there were only 4 employees and he didn't even witness much profit as the footpath and the street florists dominated the floral industry during that period. He got a bit demotivated. Still, he took care of everything by not losing hopes and created an end to end business process. Sources say that profits were visible after 2001.
